Devens Manufacturing Plant and AMSC Corporate Headquarters

In January 2003, AMSC opened the world’s first commercial volume High Temperature Superconductor (HTS) wire manufacturing plant in Devens, Massachusetts, USA.
The 355,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility provides AMSC with the ability to meet the growing demand for its industry-leading wire products. Over 1 million meters of HTS wire have been sold, serving our customers worldwide with a high level of performance and quality of service.
AMSC is ramping up production of its second generation (2G) HTS wire at this facility. 344 Superconductors, our 2G wire products with industry-standard dimensions, are available for sale and we have achieved a gross capacity of 720,000 meters per year. Existing stock of first generation (1G) HTS wire is also available to customers during the scale-up process.
We plan to adjust the scale-up of production of our 2G HTS wire as dictated by market demand.
