AMSC developer kits for the PowerModule™ power converter allows OEMs, VARs, system integrators and end-users to quickly develop power conversion systems to address a wide range of applications. Using the graphical user interface (GUI) you can quickly program and modify parameters of the four standard software modules of one or more converters to meet your specific application needs.
The GUI provides a human machine interface on a developer’s computer for programming, setting up the converter parameters, passing parameters back to the user interface for display, and/or calculations and control of the system by the operator. The GUI provides the ability to quickly integrate and diagnose a PM1000 power conversion system.
Integration of Customer Specific Proprietary Software (CSPS) into the PM1000 power converters is achieved through AMSC’s PowerModule Advanced Configuration Tools (P-ACT™). The P-ACT tool set provides an application programming interface (API) that allows engineers access to PM1000 parameters and communication objects. The P-ACT tool set development framework allows automatic linking of customer code with AMSC’s core software and real time control of standard software applications.

American Superconductor developed the PowerModule converter as a modular design with standard cell building blocks (also known as Power Electronic Building Block - PEBB), that can be quickly configured to meet different application needs from both the hardware and software viewpoints. This combines the advantages of a proven power converter platform with the ability to rapidly develop a custom configuration.
Using the Developer Kit can reduce the cycle time associated with developing a power conversion system. This reduction in time provides the potential for earlier revenue realization, taking on an additional opportunity/project, or further design refinement.
