PQ-IVR® Systems

AMSC PQ-IVR (Power Quality Industrial Voltage Restorer) systems provide instantaneous, facility-wide protection against voltage swells and one-, two-, and three-stage sags up to 60% of nominal voltage.

Like our D-VAR® systems, PQ-IVR systems are based on AMSCs proprietary four-quadrant PowerModule converter technology, enabling custom configuration for virtually any industrial voltage-conditioning situation.

Shunt connection safeguards critical load.
The installation of PQ-IVR systems also set them apart. They are shunt-connected, which means that their sag rebuild is not load-dependent. As a result, additional load may be added to the facility without compromising the effectiveness of the PQ-IVR.


One more reliability advantage: PQ-IVR units will not shut down or “go into bypass mode” in the event of a voltage dip that either originates within the facility or exceeded the rebuild design limits of the PQ-IVR. This is because the PQ-IVR sag rebuild depends chiefly on the fault current of the system.
