Summary – Job Responsibilities – Activities:
The Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for SEC reporting, including roll forward and drafting of the document quarterly fillings, coordination and updating of all inputs received from management and legal teams, preparation of supporting footnote schedules, review of XBRL tagging and completion of SOX tie out document. Additional tasks will include preparation of financial tables reported in the Proxy as well as assistance with ad hoc 8-K filing as needed.
Functions
- Preparation of SEC filings including but not limited to quarterly 10-Q/10-K, earnings 8-K and other 8-K filings as the business needs require using RDG Thunderdome online portal
- Coordinate all inputs required for preparation of all supporting schedules
- Review and approve all disclosure support schedules provided by subsidiaries prior to incorporating into filing
- Coordinate review comments received from internal and external legal as well as senior accounting management reviews of all SEC documents
- Review XBRL tagging completed by RDG team quarterly
- Complete tie out of SEC report drafts prior to quarterly filings
- Complete tie out of SEC financial statements back to ERP source reports
- Completion of quarterly financial reporting disclosure checklist
- Obtain signed SEC certifications from key management members each quarter
- Prepare receivable and revenue related support schedules monthly to support ongoing management monitoring of activity between reporting periods
- Assist legal and stock teams with preparation of annual Proxy filing through internal reviews and tie out of financial tables
- Support auditor requests for quarterly and year end reviews as well as walkthroughs and SOX testing
- Monitor new FASB pronouncements to identify impacts to the Company
- Provide support in the application of proper U.S. GAAP disclosures for new guidance adopted as needed.
- Cross train as backup to month end consolidations process in Oracle ERP
- Ensure compliance with all SOX controls
- Assist with ad hoc special projects as needed
Education – Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- Two to three years of related experience
- Experience researching and resolving technical accounting issues for both U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting
- Experience working with concepts, practices, and procedures in areas of responsibility
- Public Accounting/CPA experience is a plus
