Functions:

Summary – Job Responsibilities – Activities:

Enforce and Maintain the Neeltran Quality System to ISO/IEC 17025 & 9001. This includes all creating, revising, tracking and organizing all documentation, forms, procedures and work instructions. Keep work instructions and forms simple and consistent. Institute changes when needed to bring us into compliance. Document quality procedures, processes, workflow, tools, equipment and solutions for the company.. Assist in meeting on-time shipments by resolving quality issues in a timely manner. Help lower costs by reducing re-work. Continually develop design guide to resolve recurring issues and document new ones. Inform supervisors related to the new design guide documents so they can inform their workers. 

Functions:

  • Establish procedures/controls to ISO/IEC standards. These procedures are to show the flow of Neeltran’s product lines and controls of operations from start to finish. 
  • Develop a working knowledge of the standards related to certified products and reports, including which documentation to the authorized agencies is required. These agencies are IEC, CSA, ATEX, UL ANSI, etc. 
  • Communicate on a daily basis with Engineering, Operations, Test, Planning, Purchasing, and Customer Service departments.  Split time between shop floor and office to identify address and correct issues. 
  • As needed, train quality employees to improve skills, experience, and productivity. Train QC employees in quality philosophy and new guidebook procedures.  
  • Maintain a variety of spreadsheets for: 1) change history of documents, 2) ECR/ECN’s, 3) CAR’s, 4) SCAR’s, 5) master list of all calibrated equipment with due dates, 6) list of all required certification courses i.e. Soldering, etc. 
  • Maintain ISO 9001 and 17025 certifications on an annual basis.
  • Facilitate classes on Basic ISO 9000 and Neeltran Quality Procedures to all new Neeltran employees. 
  • Deliver monthly quality reports with analysis and recommendations.
  • Concentrate on improving overall quality of company products, parts through ECR/ECN, SCAR’s, CAR’s process
  • Continually develop, revise, make recommendations and document items to be included in the Design Guidebook. 
  • Drive permanent fixes for recurring issues through standard operating procedures (SOP) and training. 
  • Based on information provided by the Test Department, plot logarithmic graphs for resistance over time, feed the results into a Heat Run spread sheet. Review, correct and verify all test data, scan into Test Reports directory, send to appropriate Engineer the test reports for Oil tanks and Power Supply Test Reports. File hardcopy. 
  • Update list and schedule calibration. Review cal. Sheets for accuracy. Send equipment out for repair as required.
  • Plan and schedule internal ISO audits. Interact with Auditors as needed. Respond to their Corrective Action Requests and concerns. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education – Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Quality or Operations Management, or other related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment

Position Summary:

Under the Direction of Final Assembly Team Leader, an Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for assembling parts, accessories and performing Plumbing assembly operations of fairly complex electro-mechanical components up to the completed production of transformer and Rectifier units. 

Responsibilities: In accordance with work instructions and mechanical drawings/schematics, manufacturing procedures and quality procedures, the Manufacturing Technician performs the following tasks/operations:

  • Assembles parts and accessories on units.
  • Cleans and prepares tanks for assembly.
  • Disassembles old or repair units, records how parts came off, and stores in repair totes.
  • Assembles wooden frames and supports.
  • Completes tapping and insulating of Line leads per B.I.L., including acknowledgements.
  • Assembles L.V. buss bar and builds related assemblies.
  • Assists with prepping and landing coils per drawing designation.
  • Assists with cutting and cleaning line leads to correct length.
  • Assists with crimping lugs correctly, per engineers needs with proper fillers.
  • Assists with routing cables per drawings with correct B.I.L. clearances in H.V. and L.V.
  • Assists with routing and running internal connections inside the tank.
  • Assists with mounting external components including conservators, pipping, gauges, heat exchangers, and brackets.
  • Keeps work area and toolbox orderly, organized and clean and maintains, as needed, prior to the end of daily shift.
  • Rotate to different areas in production and learn a wide variety of skills and processes. Departments include Transformer Assembly, Rectifier Assembly, Lamination, Winding, and Final Assembly.
  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, cooling systems, and fixtures for the Rectifier systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues in Rectifier systems using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Read blueprints and specifications to map layout for pipes and cooling systems
  • Inspect and test installed systems using pressure gauges, leak detectors, and other tools 
  • Perform all other duties assigned by management.

Education – Experience:

  • 2+ years experience assemblying large electro-mechanical units in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
  • 2+ years of plumbing experience in an industrial or commercial environment, preferred
  • Experience with industrial piping materials such as carbon steel, PVC, copper, stainless steel, and PEX  
  • Proficient with welding, brazing, soldering, and pipe threading techniques
  • Consistently meets or beats production schedule while delivering high quality product.
  • Assists with operating burning torches “Acetylene and Oxygen.”
  • Accurately and completely record all necessary information to worksheets in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Proficient with reading and following work instructions, mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints and quality procedures.
  • Must be able to properly distinguish and use all types of tools (both hand and power tools) and equipment required for position, including but not limited to torque wrench, saws, drill press, grinders, sanders, shears, paper cutter, punch press, etc.
  • Must be able to safely operate forklifts and operate over head cranes and successfully complete certification training for same.
  • Works in an orderly manner and consistently keeps work area and toolbox orderly, organized and clean.

Neeltran Inc is a fast-growing manufacturer of rectifier and drive transformers from 3-50 MVA. Our team delivers products of the highest quality through superior design, quality workmanship and attention to our client’s individual needs. Due to the growth of our business, we have an opening for a Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of power transformer (up to 69 kV, 50 MVA) manufacturing and quality experience requiring ISO9001, CSA C88, IEEE C57 and N299.2. IEC experience is a plus.

Functions:

  • Strong execution and continuous improvement of the company’s quality system including:
    • Ensuring ongoing ISO 9001 and N299.2 compliance and maintaining all ISO documents.
    • Plan and schedule ISO Audits, interacting with auditors as needed.
    • Tracking and reporting of quality metrics
    • Creating and improving processes and procedures
    • Providing training and daily support to quality assurance and production team members.
    • Maintaining full responsibility for Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans and PFMEA.
    • Maintaining calibration database, calibration/repair schedules and monitor due dates and average lead time for all internal instruments.

AMSC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the DVAR/VVO product line within the Manufacturing team. This individual will manage and oversee the Manufacturing Engineering function and focus on driving operational excellence by supporting production, implementing process improvements, and contributing to the development and scaling of manufacturing operations.

Functions:

  • Be seen as the main floor contact for mechanical & electrical engineering clarifications and changes.
  • For changes that do not affect form/fit/function or the specification, correct via ECN.  Otherwise, engage with applicable Engineer to address.
  • Provide daily support to manufacturing operations by resolving technical issues and process bottlenecks.
  • Work with engineering on special design considerations.

Functions:

  • Perform failure analysis and root cause studies of premature component failures and formulate the actions necessary to match component reliability.
  • Perform on-site installation and commissioning of SPS Degaussing systems for domestic and international customers.  
  • Train customer in operating and maintenance practices as appropriate for system type 
  • Assist Engineering & Manufacturing with factory testing of new units.

  • Perform electrical and mechanical assembly from sub-assembly level to finish goods
  • Load and operate automated manufacturing equipment according to work instructions and follow standard operating procedures
