Summary – Job Responsibilities – Activities:

AMSC is looking for a uniquely skilled electrical engineer to be the technical point person supporting power electronics product lines as well as supporting increased utility adoption of AMSC solutions.  This role requires that you deploy strong technical and communication skills across a broad range of utility and customer stakeholders.  Depending on the customer need, duties include working with utility protection and control engineers, integrating AMSC solutions with customer SCADA networks and customer control systems, helping to analyze power flow studies, and leading technical training webinars.

AMSC high performance distribution and transmission class voltage regulation solutions uniquely address growing power quality problems that utilities and renewable energy providers are facing.   These problems are caused by several drivers including: increased DER adoption (solar and vehicle fast-charging), increased power demands from utility C&I customers, and regional undergrounding of distribution feeders.  Helping to achieve the vision of “one on every circuit,” you will be a key team member helping AMSC to deliver a unique and high-quality utility customer experience.

Functions:

  • Work with customers to facilitate the adoption process for AMSC power electronics product lines especially within the utility technical community. You will consistently interface with standards engineers, distribution/transmission operations, and protection and control engineers
  • Work with customer engineers and specialists to enable them to independently apply AMSC solutions to their specific needs
  • Help customers resolve system integration issues: including control system configuration, DMS system integration, SCADA integration, site sensor integration, etc.
  • Be the technical SME for customer pilot projects; work with customers to demonstrate/quantify technical performance, write-up performance reports, and disseminate within the customer’s stakeholder community
  • Train customers AMSC product lines via webinars and on-site training programs; create and enhance training material for clarity and effectiveness
  • Assist customers with site commissioning and troubleshooting, either remotely or on-site as needed, to ensure an experience that is “easy to work with”
  • Travel to customers as needed; collaborate with AMSC sales colleagues to build relationships and create high-quality customer experiences

Education – Experience:

  • BS in engineering; with experience in power systems engineering
  • Minimum of five years experience in an engineering or technical marketing role at an industrial company
  • Preferred experience in utility applications engineering
  • Preferred MSEE

Summary – Job Responsibilities – Activities:

The successful candidate will work as part of an equipment engineering group maintaining and upgrading HTS production equipment used in the manufacturing of superconducting products. The types of equipment are as follows: in-line furnaces, PVD thin film deposition equipment, gas control and handling equipment, wire or tape transfer equipment and material cleaning equipment. Knowledge of vacuum systems and related vacuum components is required.

Functions:

  • The position requires a strong background and experience in troubleshooting and maintaining electromechanical systems with strengths in various vacuum pumping system, component wiring, and a wide range of vacuum sensors.
  • Knowledge of machine assembly, vacuum, component level troubleshooting and wiring required.
  • Day to day activities of this position include preventive maintenance, unplanned maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment issues.
  • Long term projects include equipment upgrades and implementation of TQM on the manufacturing floor.

Education – Experience:

  • AS degree in Electronics and/or 10 – 15 years of demonstrated relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of vacuum roughing pumps, blowers, turbo pumps, cryogenic vacuum pumps and vacuum sensors used in manufacturing and production equipment is a must
  • Industrial experience in the following areas: Metal forming, heat treat, wire or tape transfer and coating equipment.
  • Must have experience in procuring, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment in a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in troubleshooting PVD Equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced with Quality control systems including TPM.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques.

Summary – Job Responsibilities – Activities:

This person will be responsible for SEC reporting, and assisting the Assistant Controller on preparing technical accounting memos on complex accounting judgments with a focus on revenue while maintaining and ensuring compliance with corporate-wide accounting policies, procedures and related internal controls. The individual will also be responsible for supporting and advising the business and assisting the legal team during contract negotiations on potential revenue recognition issues.

Functions:

  • Preparation of SEC filings and supporting documentation
  • Preparation of financial statements and supporting information, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow
  • Provide technical accounting support to the Asst Controller and the global business units in the application of U.S. GAAP.
  • Assist business unit accounting staff and Asst Controller in identifying and resolving accounting issues
  • Draft accounting policies for new accounting pronouncements and ensure that existing policies reflect current accounting guidance
  • Prepare Revenue Accounting memos and support for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
  • Manage monthly close for Revenue processes in Oracle
  • Ensure accurate revenue accounting and reporting
  • Reconcile contract asset and liability accounts
  • Prepare revenue adjusting entries as needed
  • Analyze open Accounts Receivable for potential Bad Debt Reserves
  • Maintain proper credit levels for customers in Oracle, run credit reports as needed
  • Prepare revenue analysis and support for the SEC revenue footnote
  • Support auditor requests

Education – Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Master’s Degree or CPA preferred
  • Five years of related experience
  • Experience researching and resolving complex technical accounting issues for both U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting
  • Experience working with concepts, practices, and procedures in areas of responsibility
  • Public Accounting/CPA experience is a plus
