The SPS Manufacturing Engineering position is a completely “hands-on” role that will bring a high level of proactive initiative, energy and accountability to effect maximum product throughput and optimum resource efficiency for military products. We are looking for an individual who will setup and sustain a new manufacturing process line by leveraging the latest technology, including the strategic use of automation, 3-D printing and robotics while building improvement opportunities and applying simpler, faster, cost effective and reliable production methods using lean manufacturing methodologies.

Functions:
• Design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for production flow, equipment installation, processing steps, machining and material flow for military products.
• Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Design sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
• Deploys Digital Build Records and Component Bar Code Traceability scheme.
• Take ownership of the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency. Also, investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality and sustainment.
• Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and has the capability to develop those techniques.
• Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
• Provide guidance to design engineering organization regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
• Interface with design engineers, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and shop floor personnel on a regular basis.

Education – Experience:
• Bachelors of Science Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and a minimum 9 years of engineering experience.
o Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution preferred.

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, customer and quality specifications.
• Ability to independently set up jobs and process them to specification.
• Possessing good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable and able to work well as part of an integrated team including engineering peers and manufacturing operators.
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Self-starter and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced, highly technical work environment.
• U.S. Citizenship is a requirement.
• Proficient with Solid Works and MIL-SPECs
• Limited Travel (10%)
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Experience with wave solder and manufacturing processes.
o Experience with hands-on machining and/or production assembly line support.

The SPS Quality Engineering position is a completely “hands-on” role that will bring a high level of proactive initiative, energy and accountability to effect maximum product quality and optimum resource efficiency for military products.

Functions:
• Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
• Reliability modeling and prediction
• Statistical process control
• Leverages comprehensive metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission success.
• Provides clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the larger picture, creates an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.
• Sets the strategy to meet customer’s expectations, regularly communicates and briefs leadership on factory quality status.
• Assures proactive compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality, configuration and data management in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Defines and monitors program specifications, quality metrics, internal audit metrics and other processes to ensure product quality.

• Previous leadership experience in a team environment.

The SPS Sourcing Engineering position is a completely “hands-on” role that will bring a high level of proactive initiative, energy and accountability to effect maximum product quality & output with optimum resource efficiency for military products.

Functions:
• Development of suppliers for Military products
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality on a team approach to supplier assessments and approval
• Assist in creating Strategic Supplier Purchase Agreements
• Manage supplier transactions to ensure uninterrupted material availability
• Consolidate requisitions as much as possible to obtain leverage pricing
• Expedite critical components to ensure on-time deliveries
• Be prepared to expedite any current or potential parts issues
• Advising planning, engineering and design of item master errors, updates, or omissions in relation to specs or new or obsolete items
• Advise planning, engineering and customer operations of changes in prices or lead times that make and produce cost-prohibitive or lead times detrimental to production cycles

Functions:
• Research, design, develop and test electronic equipment and systems at AMSC including; circuity components, analog and digital computing equipment, and control and test equipment.
• Develop Climatic Testing including, Thermal Cycling & Shock, Temperature & Humidity and Temperature & Vacuum / Altitude
• Develop Dynamic Testing including Random & Sine Vibration, Classical & SRS Shock, Acceleration
• Develop Instrumentation Testing including ICP & Charge mode Pressure Transducers, Oscilloscopes, Charge Amplifiers and Signal Conditioners, Constant Current Supplies, Digital and Analog Filters, Thermocouples, Humidity Probes and Pressure Sensors
• Develop Cryogenics Testing of Critical Current
• Develop Signature Testing of Electrical Assemblies

• Solid knowledge of NI Test Stand
• Preparation of test equipment specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignments

Education – Experience:

• Minimum 7 years’ experience with proficiency in a testing environment with a complete understanding of component function and testing requirements.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience with manufacturing processes, drawings and standards. Fully understands a system and its components.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace and defense.
• National Instruments Certification preferred

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:
• Thorough working knowledge of the physical principles that govern mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Knowledge of accuracy analyses, instrumentation calibration theory and tolerance stack-ups.
• Strong knowledge of software development and analysis tools including editors, compilers, linkers, debuggers, code analyzers, version control systems, software testing tools etc.
• Independent unit testing, debugging, software/hardware integration.
• U.S. Citizenship is a requirement
