The SPS Quality Engineering position is a completely “hands-on” role that will bring a high level of proactive initiative, energy and accountability to effect maximum product quality and optimum resource efficiency for military products. The SPS Test Engineering position is a completely “hands-on” role that will bring a high level of proactive initiative, energy and accountability to effect maximum product quality & output with optimum resource efficiency for military products.

Functions:

• Research, design, develop and test electronic equipment and systems at AMSC including; circuity components, analog and digital computing equipment, and control and test equipment.

• Develop Climatic Testing including, Thermal Cycling & Shock, Temperature & Humidity and Temperature & Vacuum / Altitude

• Develop Dynamic Testing including Random & Sine Vibration, Classical & SRS Shock, Acceleration

• Develop Instrumentation Testing including ICP & Charge mode Pressure Transducers, Oscilloscopes, Charge Amplifiers and Signal Conditioners, Constant Current Supplies, Digital and Analog Filters, Thermocouples, Humidity Probes and Pressure Sensors

• Develop Cryogenics Testing of Critical Current

• National Instruments Certification preferred

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:

• Thorough working knowledge of the physical principles that govern mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Basic knowledge of electrical systems.

• Knowledge of accuracy analyses, instrumentation calibration theory and tolerance stack-ups.

Functions: AMSC has several ongoing projects. These projects revolve around the Zynq Ultrascale+ platform running real-time Linux.

• New circuit board testing and bring-up:

  • Develop software to test individual features of new circuit boards, such as GPIO, RS-485, CAN, etc.

• Automated test setups:

  • Design and develop programs and scripts to fully test hardware functionality.

• Automated kernel building:

  • Using Fuego test system to automatically pull, compile and verify performance of the Linux Kernel.

• Power cycle tester:

  • Automated test where power is cycled testing for correct boot-up and function each time.

Education – Experience:

Manages activities through first or second (Dir) level managers. This position is responsible for the effective operation of Engineering activities of major significance to the organization, while ensuring that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and obtained.
