Summary – Job Responsibilities – Activities:
The project accountant position will be part of a team that is planning to change the world. In supporting mission critical projects for the U.S. Navy, the Department of Energy and the Department of Homeland Security, you will help insure a safer and more secure Country. The project accountant will monitor the progress of these critical projects, investigate variances, approve expenses in accordance with the established accounting standards, and ensure that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected in accordance with the established billing policies.

Functions:
• Project accounting
• Read and understand the terms of each contract to include the scope of work, deliverables, allowable costs, billing issues, milestones, and schedule.
• Develop and maintain detailed project Estimates at Completion (EACs), including the actual costs to date, as well as the Estimate to Complete (ETC) on a monthly basis. The Estimate to Complete is based on project managers’ inputs and should be reviewed with the Director of Finance and updated monthly.
• Based on the EACs developed for each project, assist with determining revenue to be recognized each month in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This includes understanding proper revenue recognition for Cost Reimbursable, Time and Materials, Labor Hour, and Firm Fixed Price contracts.
• Using the EACs developed for each project, maintain a reliable company-wide project monthly revenue projection in collaboration with PMs and perform projection analyses of cash flow and profitability for each.
• Summarize actual project performance compared to proposed pricing, the original baseline EAC, and the most current EAC.
• Contribute to the creation of a common dashboard for each project with relevant financial data (cost, schedule, invoicing, etc.).
• Participate in a monthly review with PM, PI, Contracts, finance, etc. to review each project in terms of cost, schedule, cash flow, deliverables, customer satisfaction, etc.
• Set-up and maintain projects in Oracle
• Close out project upon project completion
• Update and submit monthly and quarterly government reporting.
• Prepare final invoice package containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup for approval by the Director of Finance

The SPS Test Engineering position is a completely “hands-on” role that will bring a high level of proactive initiative, energy and accountability to effect maximum product quality & output with optimum resource efficiency for military products.

Functions:
• Research, design, develop and test electronic equipment and systems at AMSC including; circuity components, analog and digital computing equipment, and control and test equipment.
• Develop Climatic Testing including, Thermal Cycling & Shock, Temperature & Humidity and Temperature & Vacuum / Altitude
• Develop Dynamic Testing including Random & Sine Vibration, Classical & SRS Shock, Acceleration
• Develop Instrumentation Testing including ICP & Charge mode Pressure Transducers, Oscilloscopes, Charge Amplifiers and Signal Conditioners, Constant Current Supplies, Digital and Analog Filters, Thermocouples, Humidity Probes and Pressure Sensors
• Develop Cryogenics Testing of Critical Current
• Develop Signature Testing of Electrical Assemblies
• Proficient in LabVIEW development
• Solid knowledge of NI Test Stand
• Preparation of test equipment specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignments
• Develop and facilitate execution of validation test plans, address issues using sound engineering approaches
• Gather, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes

Education – Experience:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and a minimum 9 years of engineering experience.
o Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution preferred.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience with proficiency in a testing environment with a complete understanding of component function and testing requirements.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience with manufacturing processes, drawings and standards. Fully understands a system and its components.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace and defense.
• National Instruments Certification preferred

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:
• Thorough working knowledge of the physical principles that govern mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Knowledge of accuracy analyses, instrumentation calibration theory and tolerance stack-ups.
• Strong knowledge of software development and analysis tools including editors, compilers, linkers, debuggers, code analyzers, version control systems, software testing tools etc.
• Independent unit testing, debugging, software/hardware integration.
• U.S. Citizenship is a requirement
• Proficient with MIL-SPECs
• Limited Travel (10%)
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Proficient with Solid Works
